Hi Randy, I love that 2400 allison with the overdrive. it has boosted my mileage from 10 prox to 12 prox and has reduced the noise and heat from the engine. driving 60 mph now i am running about 1700 rpm where i used to run at about 2350 rpm with the old allison AT545 trans. i also have better downhill engine braking because the torque converter locks up on the 2400. i also like the parking pawl in the 2400, not available in the at545. If you are still looking to use your 1000 model allison in a swap, i can put you in touch with a guy who can sell you a properly programmed computer, wiring harness, bellhousing, etc. to get you where you need to go with it.

Hey Woody, the guy that did all my programming and wiring harness work is Ted Keating of www.TKTsales.com

he is also a good source for filters and other parts for allison transmissions.

PS been to any mud-boggings lately?

Yeah, that should work. The sixth speed gives you another 10% of overdrive. the 3060 is much heavier and heavier duty than the 1000-2000 series. do you need a computer and programming to get it to work? how about a throttle position sensor? the nice thing about the 1000-2000 series is that it is only 3/4 inch longer than the at545 so if you have an at545 already as i did it is a simple bolt-in swap, no cutting drive shaft etc. the computer must be done by somebody who can program it properly though.
and that requires a program that matches your vehicle weight, rear-end ratio, etc. Ted used a program that was originally set up in a Monaco motorhome of about the same weight as my bus and it seems to be pretty much perfect as far as shiftpoints, etc.
