Default fuel still 3.99-4.15...gas 2.89 really??

prices in central Illinois are hard for me to understand...diesel still hovering at 3.99(bio-diesel blend 5-20%) 4.15 for straight diesel.. but you can find gasoline at under 3 bucks!!!
they say its because so many people heat with fuel oil... wrong!!! i checked supply houses and most don't even stock parts for oil burners thats telling me they don't have a call for them..i have not worked on one in central IL. in 30 years!!...who ya gonna call??? i don't know but hope fuel prices are lower down south can't wait to get on the road again!!

Mike who knows but I did hear one that was interesting. The rumour was that to placate the masses the oil industry was subsidizing gasoline by jacking up the diesel prices. Rational was that the average consumer would end up paying in the end because most of us are gasoline users. Higher diesel prices raise all consumer product prices then passed on to the gasoline consumers.

I was in Kansas City, MO on business last week and diesel was $3.61. $4.03 here in NJ. I already had two carry-on's or I would have brought some home.

Gas was $2.999, diesel $3.639 on the way home today. It goes up 5-15 cents at a jump, and comes down a penny at a time, with 3-4 days between drops.

In central Ohio today gas is $2.99 - diesel $3.99

The heating oil excuse might hold up if it was actually cold.......I tend to believe what Rob said about diesel prices being used to subsidize gasoline,
