Default Serial number breakdown - new guy here.

I have an opportunity to purchase a used Powertech generator but I don't know much about it, here's what I do know.

Serial number: KEA25DJ53141FTRR
Model no: PTS-10FTRR
Insulation class: F
Hours: 1506

I have searched the net for hours trying to get a breakdown of the serial number with no luck. The Kubota site doesn't go past 1997 and I think this is a mid 1980 unit.

Will the serial number tell me whether it is brush or exciter type, year whether it is a "MB", "KSI" or "C"? I found these terms in many searches but don't know what they mean.

Thank you all for your time and I'll deeply appreciate any information provided.

Paul

I don't think Powertech was around until 1990 or so.

With the FT in the model it may well have come out of a Foretravel. A lot of them seem to have had 10KW units.

Yes it is in a Fore Travel and the RR designates Remote Radiator. Thanks for your response.
