Default Radiator job complete

Wednesday I finished doing the radiator job. While the radiator was out I completed several other items including:

Reinsulate engine compartment
Transmission cooler
Install Jake brake mechanicals on left bank
Reseal hydrailic fan motor
Change hydraulic filters
Replace 3 hydraulic hoses
Replace several coolant hoses
Lots of cleaning and some painting
New themostats

The most time consuming was the new insulation - lots of cutting and fitting. I used 1" foam from home depot. Came in 4X8 sheets.

I ran into one problem when doing the Jake brake. Almost all of the parts
are common between a series 71 and series 92. The exception is the Jake furnished exaust valve bridge. The 71 bridges are about 1/4 " shorter.
Called Valley Diesel and they wanted 140$ each. 6 of them would come to 900$ w/tax. I went on the internet and a shop in Alaska sent me a set
for 100$ including priority shipping. Lucky me.

That's a job I've been putting off for a couple of years. This forum was
essential to what I have done. I can't thank those who went before
me enough.

One of the members expressed an interest the the hydraulic motor seal.
Let me know, I have it sitting on the table along with the O ring, of
which I have several.

Congrats on a job well done Art! Jakes would be a nice addition to my coach, but was not in the budget when we did the rad r & r a few summers ago. I'm thinking of pulling mine again next year and having jakes installed.
