Default JAX to Star Jet

Friday I am leaving Jacksonville Florida to go to Star Jet in Columbus Ohio.
Would you go I75 or I77?

Greg , When we go to myrtle beach , we run down 77 from canton, ohio to mt airy ,nc. IF there is no construction on 77 from mt airy to the south, that would be the way I would go. Good roads all the way to Ohio ,then they turn to **** no matter which way you go. sorry. 77 n to 70w into columbus

I like traveling I-75 better myself because I think the hills are less extreme on that route. Plus it takes you right to I71 which puts you in Columbus.

I've been on both roads and don't find either one a problem. I think the I-77 route would be shorter by maybe 100 miles, if you take US 33 from 77 up to Columbus. I have gone that route twice and it wasn't bad. Taking US 33 does require going through some small towns but it is all 4 lane road. So, the long route with no towns to go through is I-75. The short route with towns to go through on US 33. Name your own poison

Thanks to all !
I believe I will try I77 as I have never been on it.
Part of having a Bird is to enjoy the journey!
I was just hoping there were no horror stories for either way.

A pretty drive , observe the speed limits especially the West Virginia toll road. probably shorter mileage, but a bit slower in Ohio to reach Columbus.

I've done both routes and think 77 is faster from Jax but Dan is right about it being steeper. Give us a yell when you're in town, maybe we can meet for dinner/drinks.

Hey Dan, is the owner back to work at Starjet?

I will not have a toad!
I am scheduled to fly back to JAX Monday night.
Hopefully I will get to Star Jet Sunday.

If you take I-77 you do have to deal with Charlotte, NC and it can be a little crazy during peak traffic times, but you can pick up I-485 shortly after crossing into NC from South Carolina, I believe it will be Exit #1 take it around the West side of town and it will bring you back onto I-77 just north of Charlotte at Exit 23A on I-485 / Exit 19 on I-77.
