Default Cheese Grits

Saw this sign in Michigan,
I think Randy is introducing his Southern tasteful Cheese Grits side dish to the Up North Folks.

I dunno, most yankees don't abide grits. Their loss.

I'm one of those Yankees that wouldn't touch them. Tried them once and I swore I would never eat them again. I'm one of those guys that will usually eat anything. Then I was convinced to try Randy's cheese grits. I've been converted They are good and I'm glad I tried grits one more time.

Low-country shrimp & grits are creeping northward. Soon to be claimed as a northern delicacy. Randy's cheese grits next?

Yip, told this in an earlier thread. Every time I'm reminded about it I just shake my head and smile...

True story: I learned about cheese grits from the cashier girl at the "Dixie Dandy" in Bainbridge GA..

When I asked Randy what they were, she overheard and piped in while gathering big rolls of her massive belly in each hand and proudly stated, "Thems cheese grits". We all howled!

You are all correct, they don't serve grits there. But actually the Bluebird restaurant in Leland, Michigan is worth a stop. Its right on Lake Lelanau where it flows into Lake Michigan. The views from the restaurant are amazingly beautiful. The salad bar is outstanding and the specialties of Lake Perch or Prime Rib are wonderful. They also have a wine cellar that has many vintage wines at reasonable prices. And don't forget the cinnamon rolls that they serve with every meal. Yummy.
