Default Mobley Hotspot from AT&T

I learned about this from a forum on Sprinters. The device is a hot spot with a $20 service fee per month will give you streaming internet all through the bus.

I am ordering now, and they are back ordered, but seem to come through in short order. It is separate from any cel bill, but is provided by AT&T. I think it is a game changer. The thread below. I plan to get this and knock my data amount way down on my phone....:-)

Got one of these after visiting with another member who has one (thanks Kev). When I did it a few months ago I ended up buying my Mobley off of eBay from a guy in Canada as there were none to be found in the states. The thing works great! We use it in the bus, but it gets a lot more use on my overnights while I'm working. It keeps me from having to rely on the much less secure public wifi in the hotels. Connection is usually great, streams movies without buffering and have never noticed any "throttling" of the speed. Monthly bill is $22 and no contract.

Like to thank everyone who help point us in the right direction with the Mobley ZTE. Received it last week and it works great.

Been using one for months now works very good on it now. I have it plugged into my 12 volt cig tapping into the pins on the Mobley.

Ed, could you give the details of which pins to use? Is it just a simple matter of connecting one pin to the positive (hot) lead and another pin to ground? I assume it would be easiest to use an old ODBII connector.

The usual disclaimers will apply - nobody will hold you responsible for anything that happens. Please just share with us what you did.

You can buy adapters for it. I bought a USB one. I can then plug it in pretty much anywhere with a USB adaptor. If you use the adaptor you need to change the "sleep" settings or it will shut down every 30 minutes. You configure it at 192.168.1.1 with a web browser

My no time out setting would not work from my computer, but did from my iPhone. Not sure why. And the mobely has to have the latest software upgrade.
I have three of these, and even with the "no time out setting" it will probably have to be unplugged every now and then to keep it going.
It is probably a good idea to unplug when not using anyway.

Been following this also, finally decided to give it a try. Ordering via AT&T was easy, doesn't sound like I should expect activating to be quite as seamless.

When you get it directly from AT&T it should come pre-activated. Not true from other sources. Like most here, I bought a power adapter on Amazon, but if you want to make your own there are several threads on the topic out there like this long one at Howard's forum: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...-outside-a-car)

Note also that experience with the Mobley is covered in long thread here on WOG: http://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.co...d.php?p=384991 starting on page 11 of that discussion.
