Default Possibly purchasing a PT 40

Hi everyone,
I've been a member of this forum for a few months and have been searching for a wanderlodge for a while and I may have found what I'm looking for. I'm looking at a 1983 PT-40 that is labeled as a somewhat of a project. I asked the initial questions; my main concern being rust and mechanical; I also asked about windows because I imagine those are hard to find. My plan if I purchase it is to re-do the interior to my taste but I hope not to go too wild. A little about me, I'm an ASE certified highway truck technician which makes me pretty handy with the mechanical aspects of this rig. Can you guys give me some tips on what to look for or look at as a potential headache or crazy expense?? Any and all of your advise would be appreciated.

Your knowledge is a major plus. The concerns I would have is tire age, battery condition, roof leaks and rust. They all can add up real quick. The interior condition and the coach related systems would be next for me. Most of them can be fixed with WOG knowledge. If the initial price reflects the major needs like tires, batteries and so on then maybe it is perfect for a man with your abilities. If you don't want to spend a lot of time wrenching then buying one that is in awesome shape and pay the price. I bought one in awesome shape and have not stopped working on it in 4 years.
It still beats paying 4 times as much for a new rig and still working on it constantly..

I owned that for 10 years prior to selling it to a fella about 30 miles from me.
Here is what it will need: batteries, tires, engine fluids changed. air filter, fuel filters, maybe fuel tank treatment, and a lot of luck. It has sat for years and was towed to wherever it is now.
It originally had 24.5 wheels on drive and tag. PO bought 4 22.5 wheels you see laying on top of the wood and wool floors I installed.

That’s what I was figuring on. The people that have it now are changing fluids and filters. I can handle the mechanical side of it as well as the electric. I’m conc need of any major rust; I didn’t see any in the pictures but that would be a problem.

It had a seal around turbo go out and I had that repaired. I also had the turbo reworked. I added 2 roof airs as the Cruisairs weren't very effective
