Should have been at Mesa Verde RV Resort about now (3:30), but had an error come up on the transmission between Williams and Flagstaff. “Do Not Shift”, and trans locked in 5th gear. Headed back to Kingman. Been sitting here at the transmission shop for about 4 hours. Some kind of communications error between trans and TCU. They had to finish another job, and just got back to us. They close at 5:00, so I guess we’ll be in the parking lot on generator tonight. Hopefully they can find it tomorrow. Otherwise it’ll be a long weekend.

Where are you?

Hi Dennis,

Made it to the campground late this evening. They did more testing this morning, and couldn’t confirm a cause for the error code, nor could they duplicate it. So far, only one instance of the code. They did find that one of the wire harnesses related to the transmission was not connected tightly. That was one of the possibilities that was listed in the Allison software. They wanted to pull the transmission bottom cover to do more testing, but couldn’t get parts until Tuesday. I chose to wait to see if the code returns, rather than spend more money, as well as time in Kingman.

Thanks for the suggestions. We chose to stick to the interstate to save time, and arrived just before dark. We’ll be here for a month, so may give you a call.
