If it happens again:

With the engine running, see if you get any "Check Trans" flash codes when you turn on the "Trans Test" switch. Watch the “Check Trans” light and count the flashes. If there’s a fault, the light should flash out a two digit fault code. For example flash, flash “pause” flash, flash, flash would = Code 23 — keep writing down the two digit code numbers until they start repeating.

Cool opening line but the h1 tag says nothing a search will value. Titles are classified by search to prove earlier and often show in the search . A better title would be '94 PT will not shift engine running' if this forum had a vote button on replies, the votes are set to add a rich script to that bit of data.

Agreed, "stuck in a French toll booth" is not something you see on the WOG often.

I don't know the '94 (is it a DDEC II?), but if he does not have one a Silverleaf might be a good idea for Mick. At least he could easily search for codes and better monitor his engine for when he needs to post questions on the WOG?

Mick you might take a look at these www.silverleafelectronics.com

Thanks all for the tips, it's most certainly an electrical issue, fluids all good temps all good, I've just stopped for the night, engine off and the N light flickers as does the do not shift light, both for a minute or two, then settles down?
Regards
Mick

I do not have a lot of specific transmission experience, but it sure sounds like a bad ground to me (flickering lights). Storage area under the drivers seat, is where you should find your Allison transmission brains. I would start there.

One more than "fortune cookie factory," so far.
