Default SP36 vs FC35

As I continue to softly shop for a Wanderlodge, I think I am noticing that one could buy a "cheap" 89 SP36 for about the same money as a fully-decked FC35.

I wonder why one might choose one over the other. I can make my own comparisons regarding the FC35 being at its pinnacle model, and the FC being fully-boated.

What has anyone else to say about a direct comparison of the two. I would particularly like to hear from someone who has owned both, if such a rare bird exists...

well,i have owned several of each,FCs and SPs,and a few others in between.
But,I have only driven an FC or an SP maybe 1000 miles.
And I have never driven a 300HP FC.

I really like the SPs,they are the hotrod of Birds IMO.
Place an FC and an SP side by side ,price them the same, and I will take the SP every time.
As will most of the guys on this site.
I guess the only problem I have with an FC is my big feet (size14).
getting into the drivers seat is tough with shoes on!

Esmi,

I've owned an 84FC35 since 2006 and also own a 91SP36 as of June. Still can't decide which one I'm going to keep.

As Woody says, they are very different from each other. Basement storage is at least 2X larger with the SP with a pass through compartment too. The generator is quieter and being in the front, gets the noise away from the bedroom(87-89 FC) or from under the awning(86 and older). Ride and handling are much more refined on the SP. My FC is well insulated around the engine and is not annoyingly loud, but the SP is much, much quieter.

I love our FC, that said, I feel the SP addresses the problems of the FC and still offers a very nimble coach. I agree with Randy, side by side, dollar for dollar, option for option, I would buy the SP. Beware of the Mauve Monster, though.

There is no such thing as a "cheap" Wanderlodge. Buy the bus that you like and buy the best example of that bus you can find. In the end you will be happy and you will also have spent less money. Anyone disagree that's owned more then one?

Sorry but I can't help from visualizing the Flintstones. Coming down a mountain with no auxiliary braking such as my old FC, those size 14's might come in handy.....

Thats my night job, leaving all those tracks near construction sites, along with building eagles nest, and leaving big fake cat tracks (florida panther).
The greenies pay me well!
