Default Picked it up

Picked up the 96 PT42 from Florida. My neighbour went with me. We flew there on Sun night, got to the PO house about noon on Mon. Left around 1700hrs mon. Arrived home at 1630 hrs on Fri. Florida to Vancouver Is in 3 and 1/2 days, averaged 6.9 miles/ US Gal.

Bus ran great. Have several questions. The first being I got a engine caution several times. It cleared every time I shut the engine down but reappeared every leg of the trip. The warning was "EEPROM writing error" Does anybody know what this one means.

Coming through customs went smoothly. Had all paperwork in order. Now just have to complete RIV paperwork.

Just guessing here. I presume it is a L14 Detroit Series 60. Have a shop pull the codes and see what they find. I doubt it is a serious problem. May be just a loose wire or corroded wire in the DDEC III ??? system since it disappears when recycled.

I must say that the I really, really, really like the way the new bus drives. I can't get over just how much bigger this is than the FC I had. There are a few things that I have to chase down. There is an air leak I believe in the water service bay. It drains the air tanks rather quickly when shut down. Also one of the Aqua hot heaters is not working.
Thanks for the good words. I must say this group is great.

Congrats on the new to you Bird.... that's quite a maiden voyage!

My guess it that Leroy is on the right track with the loose connection. Could be a chip that needs to be reset.

"EEPROM (also written E2PROM and pronounced "e-e-prom," "double-e prom" or simply "e-squared") stands for Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory and is a type of non-volatile memory used in computers and other electronic devices to store small amounts of data that must be saved when power is removed, e.g., calibration tables or device configuration."

Pete:
WOW, that was some quick trip. Not much siteseeing was there.
Good luck with your coach, and hopefully our paths will cross one day.

Can't wait to go down and pick up our new "HER" coach.

Strange, Vadie is having a hard time with me buying an "OUR" coach.
She says that there are a few of us with two coaches,
but NO WAY be the president of the three coach BB club.
