Default Perkins/Kohler Genset Control Box Questions (Rebuild Photos)

I have a Perkins/Kohler genset. It has a problem with not shutting down with the two switches inside the bus and in the generator tray. Today, I changed the solenoid in the box and it fixed a problem with it clicking and not starting each time. It still will not turn off with all three switches. I have to shut it down manually.
Today I also ordered 5 new relays for the box that starts the generator. By the way, what is that box called? I am trying to do my own maintenance on the bus myself because going to the shop cost so much. I sometimes do not know the names for the parts, but I can describe them to you.
This is my first visit to the forum so I hope I am asking the correct questions.
Thanks for your help.

Darryl
I assume you are holding the switches in off until it quits,the switches break the 12v circuit on the fuel sol.normally the ground side so look for wire shorted to ground somewhere,maybe inside relay box.
Search forum someone posted print of this circuit I'll look and edit if I find it.
Ok scroll down to bottom of page click Perkins genset and Kohler manuals then first page should be print.

Default Perkins/Kohler genset

Darryl:
First thing, if you have a manual it will mention in the manual what it is called.
If you do not have a manual, look in the files here and you will find the complete manual and drawings for the genset. I would download it and print it. This will help you a lot.

The box is called the control box. There is also two different types of relays in there.
Unfortunately, there is a number of different model schematics to choose from, you will have to find which one it is.

Send pictures and we surely can help.

Default Perkins/Kohler genset

Good morning everyone,
I have read through your email and it was nice to find out how helpful everyone is. The generator is a diesel, and it was great to have a name put to the box=control box. I did not get any manuals with this motor home and the schematics that everyone sent will be very helpful. I am holding the inside switches down to crank the generator and that works. The problem right now is that it will not shut down with any of the switches.
I will get photos today and try to learn how to post them. If I can’t do it my friend will.
Thanks again for all of your help.

Darryl,

Read this thread it will tell you how to post pictures;

Wanderlodge Owners Group > Frequently Asked Questions > Forum Features > How can I add a photo to the body of my message? UPDATED INFORMATION

So that you won't have to add your signature to your post every time, let the forum software do that for you, read this to find out how to do that;

You need to add a permanent signature to your user profile, so that it will automatically be added at the end of all of your posts, this way we will know who we are replying to and what year and model of 'Bird or RV that you own, or if you are a Wannabe 'Bird owner, that way you help us, so that we can better help you.

This was one of the things that you were asked to do in the Wanderlodge Owners Group Rules and that you agreed to, when you became a member of this forum;

To find out how to add a permanent signature to your profile please read;

How To Post A New Topic Message Or A Reply To A Topic and Add Your Signature

Why do we want you to have a signature; Wanderlodge Owners Group > Frequently Asked Questions > User Related Issues What is the signature for?

So we are asking you again to please just add a signature in your profile with the requested information;

Your Name

Year & Model of 'Bird or WANNABE

Your Location

You can set your signature by choosing User CP at the upper left side of the forums page and then choose Edits Signature from the Settings & Options, then create your signature and if you want to you can add a signature photo, then scroll to the bottom and click on Preview Signature and if you are satisfied with the results, then scroll back down to the bottom and click on Save Signature.

Thanks,
