Default ballast???

Lou and I are replacing the flourescent bulbs on board.
Two don't work. I have read of Dupree ballasts and am wondering if they can be a replacement for what we have.
In the fixture we do not have the ballast but a 'circuit board' that is 5in long by 1-1/8 wide. This contains a glass fuse.
The interior of the fixture is printed :
12VDC.interior
2Afuse red+ and black.
DO we need to find this whole unit and replace it or can the ballast be substituted?
Thanks

Did you ever figure out what to do about your light ballasts? I am new here and have the same issue...

I purchased 3 or 4 of Dupree's ballasts. Just match the wattage rating to your setup and it should work fine. If the new ballast won't physically fit you can screw them to the outside of the fixture and run wires from there.
