Plates, stickers, yeah could be a hoax. Also could be off the road for a number of years. Only one way to tell. Someone interested at that price point go look at it. Be aware the future owner has to have mechanical skills, the motivation, and at least 10-20k in reserve to make it happen. May not need all the reserves up front, little at a time, but you will need it. Go read Kris’s thread. And we know what kind of wrench he is.

New tires new batteries new alternator new hoses new rear seals thinkin those are axle seals? Thats all in the plus category. The negatives should of been in the listing shocking it wasnt!!! The Cab AC being removed is not shocking almost none of them work. The roof A/Cs worst case two new units also not shocking its old. The electric fridge is upgrade. The biggie is the generator. But even that isnt a huge deal most of the 80s coaches have had gen set problems and the ones that havent probably will. Im sure there more wrong with it than than listed.
I still think if you buy a coach with clean interior and good paint your money ahead. Mechanical issues are cheaper than paint in this day and age.
The one thing that Ive learned from the WOG is wether its from the 70s or a 2001 they all need work and always will.
But hey keep shopping its all a learning experience

Yea, that would probably help. I'd pursue if I felt there was potential for future ownership.

The owner also mentioned that the shop that serviced it said the engine was missing (misfiring?) because the coolant pressure was low and replacing the radiator cap resolved the issue??? Does that sound right?

Find out the name of that shop so we make darn sure never to go there.

Yea, there were red flags going off throughout our conversations. I have no idea where he took it, but it didn't sound like he did any of his own work. I'm no expert on these coaches, but know enough that some of it wasn't making sense.

Overheating and shutting down, maybe, but not misfiring.

Given all the recent stories, I wonder if Karen wants to add a new section to her list for "proceed with highest level of caution" or something similar?

Hey people,

Not sure how much attention this post will get, but I will start it here, since it involves this bus

I went and looked at this bus in like September and struck a deal. Since the deal was struck I think the radiator was replaced to clear up the overheating issue....Nevertheless, I am planning to buy it. While making my initial plans to bring it home I came to the conclusion that I need a Non Commercial Class B license to drive this thing (which I do not have). I am sure I could probably get it home, but god forbid something happened I am sure the insurance company would quickly learn of my license limitation.

I had to check my profile. It appears I have been looking for a bus for 11 years. Normally, I would have my buddy drive it home for me, but he moved to Indiana. That still may be an option, but harder to plan. I even thought of asking my son's bus driver....

So, now I am here wondering if anyone in WOG is in the Philly or DE area that wouldn't mind taking the Journey (driving for me or with me - I have a permit) from Wilmington to Doylestown. If so, please PM me and let me know if you can help out. I will gladly compensate...

Thanks...Mike

I don't live in Pa. but i don't think you need a special license to drive a motorhome.
