Seems like most people are going with the TDS card. What kind of discounts are you seeing with MudFlap?

I have used it and it works well. I saved $48 on my first fill-up using it in Texas. Happy to post the receipt and more info about how it works if it would be helpful. That said, they don't have nearly as many stations in their network as TDS, but it is a nice option.

If you (re)sign up using my invite code it will save you an additional $10 on your first fill-up... and credit me $10 as well. Happy to share it by PM.

TDS has been great, but not so much out west. My neighbor the other day told me he uses one through FMCA that works as well as TDS????????????

Guy on irv2 did a TSD vs TCS (FMCA) comparison - about a year old. Biggest difference seems to be that FMCA requires you to pre-fund purchases into an account they control rather than granting them debit access to your checking account like TSD. Definitely need to plan for money to be in their account before you need it. Fuel station availability and total discount “stories” vary by location so couldn’t tell if there was a clear winner.

Just an update on Mudflap. I had originally used it almost 2 years ago in New Mexico I think. Jim Walters and I both used it ona trip to Quartzsite. Seemed to work OK, but I had not found stations in the Florida area. Also it just seemed that most of our recent trips started or ended on I 95 and I couldn’t beat Buc-ees and the 5% Penn Fed card. I also couldn’t do better with the EFS card either. Here comes the summer of 2024 and for some reason Buc-ees is not cheap anymore and I will have to restart my EFS card because I haven’t used it in 6 months.

Well, I end up in Bainbridge at an “adventure vacation” and need fuel to travel back to Titusville. A check of fuel apps show a station in Bainbridge with a Mudflap price of $3.12, not outstanding, but better than anything around. Now, being old, i have to check my phone to remember how to use Mudflap. Decide to check it out and go but in50 gallons, painless transaction, click on the station of choice on the app ( once you have registered your account with them) the app gives you a 6 digit number that you show to the clerk And they turn on the pump. My receipt was e mailed to my phone before I was back on the road. After feeling good about the transaction i filled my tank today 142 gallons @$2.97 in Florida at another station in Perry. Mudflap seems to have more stations on smaller roads than EFS and their receipt is certainly easier to read.

The EFS card has been great, but if you are not always on the Interstate it is good to have an alternative. Also I have noticed several TA and Loves that accept Mudflap.

I used Mudflap almost exclusively on our trip to New Orleans. Worked well, was actually cheaper most of the time than TDS.

I tried to fill up at truck stops (most being independent or TA) to get "fresh" fuel.

The receipt was, as Jim said, easy to read.

Saw today that diesel was $2.78 at Speedway in Louisville on Mudflap and $2.74 on TDS (same station). I think I had a $0.05 discount available, maybe that is why?

I have noticed more and more locations on Mudflap lately. They are clearly expanding their program and have tapped some of the same stations as EFS. I agree that Mudflap is more accessible off of Interstates, which I try to avoid when reasonable.

I am still using Mudflap a lot these days too. Really digging all the speedways they have added and how easy it is to use. It is amazing how many truckers I see using it now. I would say half the time there is a trucker in front or behind me to show the cashier their code.

Some great looking prices around Pine Mountain for those gearing up to compare with the EFS card. Also, use this code for $10 off your first fill. The other $10 will go to WOG. I will cover this app at a WOG tech session this year and we will check the referral amount.
