Painted like an inverted fade? Gene would love it.

Genes the king of the fade. Not sure if you know Ive helped him teach classes from CA to NY for about 15 years. Even did his one and only paint class. We kandy painted a caddy red over gold. The history channel photographer guy decided to smear his paint suit on the 1/4 panel to the gold base coat. Gene was pissed kicked everyone out of the booth but grabbed me and said “were gunna have to fix this” I wasnt quite sure how we were gunna do that but Gene handled it and I just assisted. It was wild. I need to go see him.

But yea its like a Winfield fade.
Joe Bailon who lived down the street from me supposedly invented Kandy paint. But he didnt years ago I helped a guitar collector verify a guitar that was original paint that pre dated Bailons car by 4 years. But joe will always be the king of kandy and Winfield is the king of the fade.

Oh yeh, Dave. I knew you had a history with Gene, although I didn’t know about your helping him teach the classes for 15 years. When you see him, please tell him hi from a friend of Brian & Tovi’s. I think I shared before that when Gene found out at the Seattle Roadster Show years ago that Brian had a Stude bullet nose Starlight could, Gene said he always wanted to chop one and told us we could come down, stay at his house and participate in the class for free. I begged and pleaded with Brian, but fortunately he ended up selling the car back to the family he had bought it from after having it for 10 years.
