2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited CRD Quadra-Drive II

We are downsizing and have decided to sell our 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited CRD Quadra-Drive II. It's set up and ready to tow. We have towed it with our SP36, we bought it from another Wogger that towed it with an FC.

It has a OM642 Mercedes Benz 3.0 V6 Turbo Diesel, *no* DEF fluid and has timing chain, Mercedes Benz 5WA580/NAG1 automatic transmission. 165k miles. Very unusual vehicle, it was offered for only 2 years in the USA when Mercedes owned Chrysler. This is a Mercedes engine/trans, not to be confused with the Fiat sourced diesels offered later. The diesel engine was a factory option, essentially the same engine a Sprinter van had. Transmission is an automatic 5 speed Mercedes unit. It’s connected to the Jeep Quadra-Drive 2 system (transfer case has low range & neutral), this was the last year with hydraulic controlled mechanical differential lockers front, center and rear. Will calmly walk up anything without wheel slip if even one tire has traction, without any input or selection from driver from on highway to rock crawling. To the best of my knowledge, no other Jeep or MB vehicle has this combination of engine/trans/transfer case/locking axles. It’s a very capable off road vehicle but with the comfort and convenience of a luxury SUV and great fuel economy.



Suspension - Full Old Man Emu medium duty suspension kit, gives it a remarkably nice ride, lifted about 4” over stock, but doesn’t look or feel it. To go with OME setup, has full Jeeperf super flex steering linkage to properly correct alignment to factory spec, as well as Rocky Road offset upper control arms with serviceable ball joints. It drives and rides better than factory, no bounce or lift related nonsense. Mevotech LCA’s and had a recent alignment. JK Rubicon wheels to correct offset and near new Michelin defenders on it (and solid steel lugnuts) 255/75/17. No wheel spacers, and zero rub anywhere even at lock.

Limited trim package, has dual zone climate control, heated seats, automatic headlights/high beam, rain sensing wipers, front/rear auto up/down windows, tinted glass, remote entry, moonroof, garage door opener, rear camera, AM FM Satellite radio with 6 CD changer, chrome & wood trim etc.

-Full underbody OEM MOPAR skid plate package, installed when suspension done. Not a factory option, only after purchase. Covers the engine, t-case and fuel tank. They are thick corrugated double layer steel plates, bolted together and to Jeep. Very heavy duty.



It has a properly installed Blue Ox tow base plate with removable pins in front, near invisible when removed. Hopkins tow light wiring installed, connector on front for easy connection to motorhome trailer lights.



Zero rust or corrosion anywhere, originally sold in Oregon (desert side), then Southern California desert, now Jacksonville, Florida. 

It’s had all required maintenance, and then some. These were known for diff bushings and oil cooler leaks, both have been addressed.

Everything works, except it has a couple minor issues.
-Moon roof doesn’t open, but vents up/down fine

Drivers seat has a worn leather panel on entry side – I can have this repaired before delivery



Clean Florida title, no leaks, etc. You could fly in and drive or tow it anywhere with your Wanderlodge. It gets 18-20mpg honest in mixed driving. Has factory towing package, with receiver hitch & 7 pin trailer connector. Rated at 7000lbs towing capacity but has never seen a trailer near that weight.

Comes with misc spare and maintenance parts and Weathertech floor liners throughout. $12,500.00 Happy to discuss with anyone interested.

CB Engineering complete delete kit. Includes full stainless exhaust, turbo down pipe, DPF delete pipe, it’s a complete exhaust system from turbo to exhaust tip. Full EGR delete kit and Crankcase vent relocation kit. Hexed XTFab Heavy Duty Performance Silicone Air Intake + resonator delete turbo hoses. Everything is new, bought but have not had time to install. These are considered the very best quality parts to delete EGR, DPF, etc.

Blue Ox tow bar, fits 2” receiver, safety cables, light wiring connector, etc.

Interesting toad Bobby, we had the E series Mercedes with that engine but it had a Def system on it. We looked at the newer Jeeps with the Italian engines in them but decided against it, we ended up with the Ford diesel in our Land Rover. Its not a perfect engine but it has done well, we are approaching 100k miles on it, knock on wood.
