Packout or not to Packout

I use the packout stuff, have upgraded over the years and miles and the red plastic has held up shockingly well. they make drawers, this is the best way I've found for tools in the bus or my truck, easy to access and don't have to pull bins out.

favorite advantage I've seen for them is the noise of rattling metal is gone, and the plastic doesn't flake or scuff anything. they work great full, unlike many cheaper alternatives. I am not easy on my tools, they work hard or they don't stick around.

I say skip all the nonsense and go straight to a service truck. If I could get my wife to drive it I would probably find the right one to use as toad, haha.

I had someone text me earlier today to see what I decided to go with. It was then that I realized I never closed this thread out. After considering all choices and trying out a few, I went with the ever popular Milwaukee Packout. It seems to be the most versatile and had the most aftermarket add ons. I started off with a couple of 3 drawer units, a couple of slim units and a couple of regular depth units. I have also told the wife and kids these would make great gift ideas!

I really like my packout boxes. Most of the time, mine are in an enclosed lawn mower trailer but sometimes they ride in the back of truck. They are waterproof, dustproof and can be locked or place a cable through them to keep them from wandering off. The two huge negatives for me (1) was the cost and yes you will forget (2) they do not fit very well in the coach. I have been looking at Tanos Systainers. I have a couple of them for my woodworking tools and they work great. One hand to unlock and open the box. However, they don't seem as robust and they don't have a seal to keep water and dust out. Hope this helps. Can wait to see what you figure out.

Me too!

And, now I have the Keter folding table in a shopping cart that we'd store in our coach..... Always learning here.
