Default Toads For Sale or Wanted

To all:

I have noticed that a lot of birds tow the Jeep Model for a toad, and I see a lot of the Liberty 4X4 Model.

Is this because this makes the "best toad", and also do most people that tow this, have the gas model or the diesel model.???

Or is this just not a "correct observation"?

Art,

The reason you see a lot of Jeep 4X4s is that they are very toad friendly. The 4X4 transfer case on a Jeep allows an automatic to be towed without the need of a drive-shaft disconnect. An added feature is the toad doesn't accumulate miles when being towed 4 down. It doesn't matter which Jeep 4X4, that is your preference.

Other brand 4X4s may also be as easy, but I know some require special chips for the electronic transfer cases. Jeep is a good ole fashioned manual engaging transfer case and I believe this is the secret.

As I write this I'm taking a break from equipping my new Jeep Sahara 75th Anniversary model with an Air Force One braking system by SMI. Already got the hitch plate in place. Will need to tackle lights to rear next and then I'm good to go!!

On the newer Jeep models, you do have to pay attention to which transfer case you have. The larger vehicles have electric transfer cases and SOME do not have a neutral position nor the capacity for one. The Liberty has a manual transfer case (with a neutral position and the manufacturer has no other restrictions), so it's easy to tow.

Congrats on the sale. I am in the process of getting a new 2012 Jeep 4x4 auto Sport Unlimited Wrangler as I have a 2008 Jeep Cherokee limited 2x4 looks like the one that just sold. Does any one have the new Wrangler with the new 3.6l in it ? Pros and Cons?

I test drove a 2012 with the 3.6 and auto trans. Good power. I have been reading about the new engine/new JK jeep at: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/

I decided to wait a few more years and keep towing our 2005 Subaru WRX turbo all wheel drive for now. That is just a dollar decison, nothing to do with the Jeep JK Wrangler - it is likely our next vehcile sometime in the future.

I just bought a new Wrangler Unlimited Sport yesterday. I have driven it less than 100 miles but so far it does seem to have plenty of power. This is my first Jeep so I don't have any experience to compare it to.
I looked at the Sahara, but I think the best value is the Sport model with only the options you want. A lot of the additional cost in the Sahara is fluff, in my opinion. I'll report back after a week or so of driving it.
