I talked with Johnny yesterday,he was working with George Morris and now that George has passed Johnny wanted everyone to know that he did take over from George,he has all the documents that George had,drawings etc.
He did not get Georges phone number but hes finishing up the jobs that were started at Georges place but Johnny is not working at Georges place.

Johnny is the expert on 450's and 380's.
When the 380's were new there was spome recalls and Wanderlodge sent Johnny all over the country doing the recall work,he thinks hes worked on every 380 in the country.
Of course he knows the other models too.

I have been thinking about something regarding this. Maybe Johnny or George too and others out there that worked on Birds and know them have taken on a younger "apprentice" to teach them anything and everything they know about Birds? If nobody has done that is that something that should be considered? There seems to be no end to the RV craze. Even with the economy in the shape it is in now they are still streaming out of northern Indiana at a fast pace. So I would think there has to be some younger people out there interested in being an RV tech and learning about Birds in particular. We all know there will come a day when those that built these coaches won't be working on them anymore. Given the longevity of these machines, we would be benefited greatly by those skills and knowledge that get passed down. How do we as a group encourage something like this? My first guess would be to patronize people like Johnny and keep him so busy that he has to look for help. Just my thoughts.

That is still the plan. Being I have decided to work until the end of the year that will probably be the only long trip we fit in this year. Sad but true.
