Default Hurricane Fuel Filter

I searched in here with no results except Hurricane's number for the Fuel Filter...6021.

What does this # cross to in other fuel filter brands?

Thanks

My housing is a Racor 025-RAC-01, the element is S2502 10 micron Aquabloc paper element. I cut off any additional information from the blister pack so it wouldn't take up so much space.

I have confirmed that the Racor 025-RAC-01 is what I have. Where are you guys getting your S2502 filters?

Is there a cut off valve up stream or do you pinch off the line to change the filter?

Pinching the line would work fine. Should be able to just open the filter and catch what leaks with a cloth or paper towel - it won't be much. The feed is thru the top of the tank and will drain back, unless you create a siphon. The electric pump on the hurricane will fill the line when you are through. A plain in line plastic automotive gas filter would also work if you cannot find the Racor replacements. Not as elegant, but would work.

Thanks Jim.

For anyone's future reference the larger West Marine stores stock them for about $20.00. Amazon has them for non prime delivery from a third party but it takes a couple of weeks.

The Racor S2502 element is West Marine #492804
