Cool What are your 2024 WOG Eclipse pre-rally plans?

So you’ve secured your reservation at the April 2024 WOG Eclipse Rally (or are on the short list)...

May I suggest that the 2024 Q18 Quartzsite Rally would make the great warm-up for the WOG ECLIPSE Rally in Texas”? Barely TWO months separate those TWO events, so why not do a Grand Western Loop that visits places you’ve always wanted to see? You could do that, then attend Q18 and afterwards slowly work your way East through the comfortable SW Winter temp zone, and finally arrive right before the big Texas Eclipse event! Interested in doing Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) in Mexico? How about Death Valley or Las Vegas? Each has been done post-Q in the past. Then where? How about Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon? Seen those yet? Have a Jeep or Bronco? Moab needs a visit. So much to see and so little time!...

IF you do a Grand Western Loop before the Eclipse Rally, WHERE would you go and WHAT would you do out West? Is Q18 on your list since they are only two months apart? Does that make a difference?

Am looking for ideas that others can use, just a laundry list would be fine!

A month at the Pima County fairgrounds after Q, two weeks at Paesano RV park in Terlingua and a week at Ft Davis/Balmorhea would be a great way to spend that time!

I was just talking to my wife about this last night. How about going to Q rally

and staying south next year and make our way to the Eclipse Rally. Being from

Wisconsin and the price of diesel. Driving to the Love Birds Rally then drive

home and a couple weeks later head south to the Eclipse Rally doesn’t make sense.

I am heading down south to WOG in October, then meandering westward to Q and taking in as much wheeling as I can anywhere I can. I have a reservation at the eclipse rally already, so was going to hit that on the way home. All of those things you listed are on my list, I just haven't planned that far ahead. It's a long time away from home!
