Default How do you TURN OFF the email deliveries to your email address?

I try real hard to learn as much as I can about how things operate here on the forum, but there are somethings that I have NO CLUE about and one of them is anything to do with the email delivery system and I do not personally receive the forum's messages by email since I come directly to the website itself to read and keep up on everything. The only thing that I know about it is that it is considered an ADD ON FEATURE and while it is approved for use by VBulletin it is not a part of their forum software and I cannot find anything that we as administrators can do about turning it ON and Off on an individual basis.

So now I get a request from a member to turn off his emails for a while so that they don't accumulate in his email box while he is traveling for the next month with very little access to the Internet and we as administrators have NO WAY of doing this that I can find, so I'm asking for ideas from the membership to see how you handle this situation.

Thanks for any help.

John, I can't turn mine off either. I know you said you tried to do it for me, and I went in there and did the unsubscribe deal, but I still get some.

Who knows?

Maybe I just don't "get it"; but if you go to the "User CP" and look under the "Thread/Thread Starter" column you'll find a "Reply | Unsubscribe" for each Thread. Although I haven't checked it out, I would assume this would allow you to "Unsubscribe" from any given Thread.

What I don't know is if you are automatically "Subscribed" if you start a Thread.

its easy, lets see if i can remember how it works.
go to your ''user CP'' panel on the top left, click on that, then go down on the left side to ''edit options'' and click on that, then go over to the right to ''messaging and notifications'' and go down to the 'default thread subscription mode',in the white box you click on the down arrow and find the option you want, click on it,then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click ''save changes''.
try that, Lee.

It can be done because I don't ever receive email. The problems is I don't remember I how did it.

Just played around with this option; looks like it's a combination of what Randy posted and I posted earlier. Randy's instructions turn off getting email notification of Threads you have started or responded to. My posting "Unsubscribes" to Threads that you have already subscribed to.

I did it the way Randy said and I selected "Do not subscribe".

Worked for me!
