We dug holes to find the break in the power running to KC's shop. It was caused most likely by a shovel hitting the line way back when and damaging the insulation that lead to corrosion of the aluminum conductor and eventual failure. KC pulled out a generator and fired up the milling machine and made up aluminum butt connectors to repair the line. He coated the connection with a liquid rubber compound and we slipped a large piece of shrink tubing over that. The kind with the glue so it made a good seal.

While we were at it we maintenance replaced three other butt connectors that were previously installed from an errant backhoe incident

Pics, connector, installed, finished, maintenance replace three more.

Be safe guys, we hate we missed you. Are you driving all the way back? I guess not you couldn't get there by March 15.

We will be back in Dallas Fort Worth on March 2 if you are coming close to there.

We have had a great time out East here but we have to head West now.Our continual summer is almost over. 30 more days and we have to be back in Alaska.
Man, I mean, to get the kind of school year y'all have just experienced, a fellow would have to pay real money to one of the outfits like School Year Abroad.

Here's hoping for equally excellent years ahead!
