Garage guy drove it in the garage stop it, restart a few time then. Dont know how he shut it off or what switch he push. 3 year traveling year long across canada and usa no issue. A other guy then me drove it and that happen. Funny coincidence, should buy a loto ticket.

One of the most common causes would probably be the front/rear selector switch in the engine compartment. They often fail when someone switches them after they’ve been setting in the “front” position for years. Another fairly common problem is the remotely mounted start solenoid on the frame near the starter. I don’t think the 87’s have a “starter lockout” oil pressure switch but just in case yours does, you might want to do a WOG site search and read about that. Also for what it’s worth, I helped a guy recently who thought his A/T switch was working properly but it turned out to be his no crank problem after all.

Good luck.

Do you have no key power, or no battery power to starter?
If no battery power, try jumpering directly from batteries to starter terminals.

Try tracing the battery cable where it grounds to the frame
