I love how they all cluster in the South this time of year.

UPDATE: I just figured it out. The app isn't compatible with my device. I have the Motorola Bionic. When I looked at Google Market I fould the BB app, but when i attempted to download it to the device the error message popped up.
Hmm, yeah. I just got a Bionic a few days ago, and it won't download here either. I'm in "rush around mode" getting ready to head for Q tomorrow, but I'll try to get into the code in the next few days to see what is wrong. Probably rendered incompatible due to op system changes, and should be an easy fix.

OK, I fixed the Android program, so it should show up by QR code now.

So far so good. I managed to get the shortcut icon installed and it accepted my username/password. Waiting now for the map to pop up so I can mark my location. I'm on 3G without wifi so it is slow. Wait and see, I guess.

This is a great service, Don. It is sure nice to know when I'm near another birder. Sure wish I was not so tech challenged and could do things like this.

If you don't get the map fairly quickly, make sure that GPS is turned on in your phone (and you may have to be outside to get it as well!)

Don,
On my phone, it reads but said "no results". Is there something else I need to do?
Oh, it is an android system.

When the App is running on the map, does the GPS icon show up in the notification bar at the top of the screen? Do other GPS applications work on your phone?

I finally got it to work, but I went another route. I'm still learning about these newfangled devices. I still want to pick up the phone, turn the crank, and ask Mable(the operator), for Joe, or Don, or whomever.
I miss those days.

Steve,
Life was a lot simpler then wasn't it? The longest phone number you had was 4 digits. Of course you had to count the number of rings before picking up the phone, because it may be for one of three other people on the line, but I'd still go back there in a heartbeat.

Default BBirdmaps.com

It's too bad that we all don't use this site more often. It's the height of the travel season and only 19 Birds are displayed on the map. It's a great way to find out where everyone is and when the chips are down you might find a needed a nearby friend. If you're new please take a moment to visit the site. Perhaps Don Bradner the person who developed the site could chime in and once again tell us about this how wonderful this site really is. . .
