Default Our Winegard satellite problems

We have had our Winegard 1000 for a couple of years now.
Only one that gets a good signal even receiving thru trees.
We had stopped in Pasco, WA a few weeks ago on our way to the coast and pulled into the fairgrounds rv park for the night.
We backed into our site, looked at the tree along side us, adjusted the rig and plopped down for the night.
Pushed the button for the search feature for the Winegard, and it started doing it's thing.
Got a message on the inside unit that said "No LNB voltage".
Took a while and several tries to find out the problem was a small branch was in the way of the dish, and when the dish rotated around, hit the branch and kept trying to rotate thru the branch, finally gave up and it shut down.
Found out later, when had a tech look at it, turns out that this Winegard 1000 doesn't have any sort of stop detent on it if it encounters and obstacle.
Just keeps trying till it fries the internal board in the base of the dish.
Screwed up the reflector a bit also.
Just had to order a new 1000 to be put on the end of this month.
Camping World has a new unit for $1,200 and some change which was the cheapest one i could find.
Please keep this problem in mind if you have one of these dishes.

This is a question . I haven't explored this but have been planning to and maybe some of you know . With the hot spot devices unlimited data plans smart tv's wouldn't it be just as well to stream the tv rather the use a satellite dish.

That seems to be the way it's going? I've got a wineguard traveler and it works well but what's the future (short or long ?)

I think so basically as I understand it you stream what ever you pay for and its thru the phone or mobile device ? But I don't know for sure. Reception would be as good or bad as your cell reception
