Yes! It's a good bus and will be better. See you at the rally!

Getting closer to home. Sitting in the I24 Campground in Smyrna, TN along with fellow WOGer Allen Landreth (88 FC35 ex John McGinnis) and his wife Nadine who are up from FL visiting family. This place is packed! Nicer digs than the Wal-Mart in Effingham where there was a crowd but a somewhat anti parking staff despite spending a few bucks therein. Very humid here compared to nice places I've been up north in recent days. If raining I will take the flat southern route or I may go up Monteagle though with the heat I may still think better of that. The "four wheelers" have been driving crazily! A few pix tonight as dusk fell, I spent the better part of the nice sunset in the pool here and chatting with Allen and Nadine.

Don't be afraid of monteagle! Pulling a f150 I did it at 20-30 mph. You'll be at the top before you know it.

If it's wet outside - or over 85F when I leave - I think I'll go flats, longer but safer in the long run. Running a bit on the warm side and don't want to be in a bad spot.

Default 90 SP36 made a full lap today - Greetings from Byron/Ft. Valley

The bus and I are sitting in George Morris' side yard, generator purring away, after making the obligatory stop past 1 Wanderlodge Dr and hence one full lap... it left Peach County 29 years and 2 months ago (I suppose) and has reportedly been as far afield as Alaska let alone having been stranded in the Great White North. On to the next lap!!!!

By the way the Bird's Nest looks horrid - very sad. Saw it once in all its glory.

As soon as we left Smyrna, TN this morning it began POURING - hazard lights POURING for lack of visibility - this cleared right about at the ascent to Monteagle, where I tailed a very slow hopper truck up and then got rid of him on the descent! Kept temps happy throughout. Terrible Atlanta traffic made me miss getting here before George & Cathy went to a football game in town, hence the side trip by Ft. Valley (only 7 miles or so away).

Making my list for George... we need a P/S pump rebuild right off the bat plus I need to decipher 1638 miles of "squawks" on my pad for us to scratch heads over. It will be ready for WOG and hopefully back to me a week or so prior so I can effect some cosmetic improvements.

Nevertheless - made it - never doubted it - bus ran terrifically the entire time.

Start looking now for a rebuild kit for that Power Steering Pump. They are very hard to come by. New or rebuilt pumps are just as hard to find.

I bought a brand new pump from Power Steer Inc., a few years ago and a couple rebuild kits. They also have an affiliate in Canada. Give Power Steer a call, I just pulled the number off my old pump and they had it in stock.

If George can't put his hands on one, we'll go to Power Steer or Lares Mfg. Lares just MADE a ram for a client's 58 Rolls Royce. They are wonderful.

I'm home. Bus is with George tonight and for the next couple weeks. Hope to have it back about a week prior to Pine Mountain so I can do some more cleaning and improvements. After a week living in the BB I am not quite sure what to do with a house that doesn't go down the road! Wonderful conundrum. Cleaning some things like the original rear comforter (matches the valance in the MBR) and some kitchen stuff this evening that I brought back with me. 84 Wanderlodge II "Mother Ship" on the other side of the conversion next to me.
