Default I-40 Eastbound

Currently in Holbrook, AZ at the OK RV Park just off the interstate.

Tomorrow passing through NM and TX. I expect to get at least to Amarillo if not into OK. Watching the hurricane forecast, I can slow down to miss terrible weather in AR/TN/MS.

If you're on the route, let me know - call or text tomorrow daytime.

You passed me at Twin Arrows on I-40, an hour back toward Flagstaff. Catch you down the road, ok? Safe trip!

You were there? I sped right by it - and Van suggested I should stop, I just wanted a few more miles under me tonight.

Gotta be careful overnighting at “free” casino stopovers; they can be expensive. But breakfast at the Twin Arrows coffee shop always provides a good start to the days drive. Took pic below a week ago after one of those stops. That’s the San Francisco Peaks above Flagstaff in the mirror. Still had some snow a week ago...

Currently at the Big Texan RV Ranch, Amarillo - there's a vintage Newell here as well that I passed somewhere back in NM, what are the chances?? Good steak dinner, free ride to the steakhouse. No, I did not try to eat the 72oz, I did that in 2001. En route to AR or maybe even TN/MS tomorrow, watching the weather!

Dateline Little Rock, AR - KOA Journey, nice place. Slides out, dinner just cleared away, time to call it a night. Not sure if I'll dawdle a bit tomorrow or just hammer down for Augusta. Atlanta traffic will not be cleared away unless I leave late which means I get back super late. Anyone want to meet up in Birmingham, AL or something?

Had a lightweight day yesterday, Little Rock to Bremen, GA, where I spent the night behind the Wal-Mart off I-20. Quick trip into Blue Beacon for a wash and brush up this morning to get 2800 miles of bugs off and then the final leg to Augusta. Made it into the back of my shop around noon today. 3008 miles door to door, roughly 8MPG for the trip with the dash air on the whole way and a lot of generator hours running roof airs, hot trip across the southern USA. Big cleanup and move-in commences tomorrow.

Glad you made it safely.
