Default Road Trip... Vancouver to Prince Rupert, BC

Heading to Prince Rupert via BC Ferries... took ferry from Vancouver to Vancouver Island. Drove up to Port Hardy and overnighted in the Terminal parking to ensure we were in line for 05:30 check-in.

we did it 7 years ago, just in the other direction. Neat trip, just expensive.

Thanks Crit! It’s my baby, just not enough time to do everything I want to do to her! She’s slow but steady - sure noticed a difference in power when down at sea level vice 2000 - 3000 feet for most trips!

For any West Coasters - we drove from Vernon BC down to Vancouver via the Fraser Canyon route (Hwy #1) - longer but very little traffic! Made for nice relaxing drive since we did not have to deal with the big climbs and descents on other route (hwy 5). Stayed in http://www.capilanoriverrvpark.com/ - a great location for accessing Vancouver sights and easy access to ferry.
Ferry is very new and comfortable - got a cabin on ferry as well which made the 16 hour trip nice and easy. Good way to change up an Alaska trip and see some different sights. But not for us this year - just wanted to make sure we made it for our son’s wedding on time and well rested!
