Default M380 Wiper Excess Sweep

The passenger side wiper sweeps so far to the right that it "falls off" the flat part of the windshield onto the curved part. When this happens, the arm actually bangs against the glass and the side of the wiper blade leaves black marks on the curved part of the glass. I've tried to take a picture but it's hard to see the windshield.

I can't adjust the arm to start its swing any further to the left -- it's already hitting the center trim when it swings to the left.

These are the factory arms and I've seen this issue on several of the PO's repair orders with ex-dealers like Parliament. Apparently, nobody figured out how to fix it.

Anybody else have this problem? Is it a wiper arm issue or am I going to have to dig into the dash to try to change/adjust the cam? Right now, I'm running without the passenger arm -- OK when I'm alone, but Kelly won't live with it this way .

Thanks, Randy -- was hoping it was something simple.

Bought two new arm assemblies for our BMC and they were knowledgeable and helpful.

i think there is a stop inside the wiper transmission,i may have one here for an older coach,i can look if i remember.
but it sure sounds likr the arm is too long, maybe we can get a measurement of the arm on another 380?

We just measured Shawns arm and its 30 5/8th center of pivot to center of pivot
The top pivot is 19'' up from the windshield rubber in the parked position.

Default Wiper problems on passenger side

Look at my posts of 3-20-19
Well you are lucky the wiper assembly on the passenger side is accessible although not easily. I had similar problems on our 95WB and found loose parts on the wiper motor assembly. You open the panel in the front of the passenger seat that has the footrest and AC vents by pulling the top back and it will tilt backwards. You have to disconnect the ducts going to the top of the air distribution box and than you can see the wiper motor assembly. It is held in place by the nut around the wiper shaft outside and one mounting screw, one will back out the other will not. The trim cover under the wiper arm outside can stay in place. On our coach there was a metal spacing plate, that dropped down when I removed the assembly, be careful it has to go back. When I removed the assembly it I found loose screws on the wiper motor assembly that caused the problem. I tightened them all and the unit worked fine.

Thanks for all the suggestions -- I remember your post, Lucas, but was hoping I wouldn't have to dig into the dash. I'm going to listen carefully in that area to see if I hear anything that sounds loose before going into surgery!

Here are some pics of my setup (click to enlarge)

Dyna is still available and appear to be OEM for a lot of higher-end RVs.

4. Old blades vs new blades (1 showing) I got from Chip @ WOG

I attach this pic because Dan Hunt and I talked earlier today and he said this problem started on his M380 when he changed from the factory blades to ones that had a thicker "structure". Both of our problems start once we get above ~60 mph. It appears that a blade that traps the air flow pushing from the center of the windshield to the outside will stress the arm and push the blade off the flat part of the glass. Dan found the model number of a blade similar to what BB originally used -- it appear to be more "porous" so I'm going to buy one for the passenger side and give it a test. If it works, I'll update this thread with the info -- I don't want to have anyone buying new blades that don't fix anything.

If the blade doesn't work, I'll try a shorter arm. Regardless, I'll probably try to create enough access to push my borescope into the motor assembly area to see if anything there is loose. One more thing on the list .
