Default Sreering Wheels - Which one do you like???

My steering wheel has a slight bend in one of the spokes. It's been that way since I bought her. So I've been shopping for a new one. I got some great prices from VIP.

http://www.vipwheels.com/WEB%20PAGES/VIPKITS.htm

VIP 12 $ 50.34 Molded
VIP 19 $102.88 Leather
VIP 25 $211.70 Wood & Leather

Included several photos below. The VIP 25 is backordered until late Aug.

I'm leaning towards the #19 18" Black with leather looks like the wheel in the coach now, but 18" in place of the 20". The chromed spokes are kinda sexy to, 2 or 4 spokes?

What do you guys think?

Kurt,

I'm with you, the #19 is probably your best bet. What about the VIP21, which does come in a 20" version, and will match very well? While the chrome is nice, I'll bet you'd find some time that the sun would reflect off it and be bothersome.

That wood and leather is sure sexy too though Kurt, if you can wait on it being available.

You might have better visibility of the dash gauges with the two spoke version.

I got the new wheel yesterday VIP 19-18" , 2 days after ordering. Great price, fast shipping, wrong steering wheel

It appearers that there are 2 styles of steering wheels for the mid 90's BB.

The model I have has the telescoping feature on the wheel itself, rotate the the knob in the middle of the wheel and adjust up or down, then tighten knob to lock in place.

The other style the adjustment which is the newer version has the adjustment on the column.

Make sure which type you have before ordering. They are being good about it and have sent out the correct model today.

Default Steering Wheel with Bend in it

I don't know, as I get older I am finding out that bends aren't so bad. When I try to straighten out sometimes everything hurts. And I hate to think that I'd be replaced just like that because of a small bend. Oh well....

Best,

Default Steering Wheel with Bend in it

Lee:

Sobering thought - we might be "replaced" when we get the "bends".

Kinda reminds me of a while back when Mr. J.B. Dogg, my traveling companion - had to have a little "procedure". The vet said: "Its, not too bad, and he will 'do better' after it is done".

I reflected, what if someone wanted to have a similar "procedure" done on me, if it would "make me do better".

Sorry, John - little off topic (kinda sorta)

The new wheel is on and it made a huge difference in the steering characteristics of the old girl.

I'm not continuously steering, basically it drives like you would expect. The input has been reduced by 85% as well as fatigue, a real pleasure to sit back and watch the show

I will disagree with you guys though. Sometimes a new part does make life better. A new hip in 2000 made me better , now if the knee was as easy as a steering wheel I'd get one today
