Does the head problem extend to the ISM engines also? Also what is the diff. between the ISL and ISM?

Chuck, this applied to a specific run of ISL engines that can be isolated by vin numbers. I understand that you can check and see if the particular ISL falls into that group. There is no known issues with the ISM's that I have ever heard of.
The ISL and the ISM are different size displacements, the ISM is an 11 litre engine where the ISL is somewhat smaller, both engines are great in my opinion. The 500 hp ISM in my slide equipped 2001 LX works awesome although I would not hesitate to buy an ISL equipped coach.
If you want any particular info email me at jdoel@bellnet.ca

The ISL is 8.9 liters. Current models are 9.0

It is a 400. Current 9.0 ISLs do go to 450, but the 8.9 is/was "only" 400.
