Default Winegard LP-1000 Satellite ?

Anyone have any knowledge, good or bad about a Winegard LP-1000? I have access to one here local for a pretty good price.
I bought a winegard rm-8000 at RATS that... "works great"....but doesn't. Bad control module according to Winegard. (I'm too trusting)
Winegard apparently does not support any of their discontinued products so I'm not to sure about buying a winegard product.

Kip I don't know anything about Winegard Sat systems but I have had excellent service from MotoSat

The general opinion about Winegard satellite products is that they produced junk - UNTIL they came out with the Trav'ler HD series. How the Trav'ler works is a mystery, but there has been very little but praise for it in the 3 years it has been out. I'm heavily in the Motosat camp, but there's no denying that the cheaper Trav'ler has been a success. Can't say that about any prior Winegard model, even if there are some out there that still actually work.

That's what I thought. The RM 8000 that I got at RATS is only 5 years old and winegard doesn't carry any replacement parts on discontinued products? That's crazy! That tells me they are disposible units.
