Default Xantrex Rv3012 Inverter/Charger

Looking for advice for our 1999 lxi. Last night our trace rc7 display for the inverters starting making a sporadic beeping noise that does not indicate any error codes. The inverters charge and invert properly. However, the rc7 continues to beep. I believe the rc7 display is bad. Is there any harm on just leaving it unplugged at the inverter? These are original rv 3012 units. Is it worth replacing with new Xantrex Freedom sw3012 and new Xantrex Freedom sw320 controllers? Trying to decide if spending the $4200 is worth it or wait until inverters fail completely. Thanks in advance.

If you have all your settings the way you want them, then the remote I believe is nothing more than information for you, on what is going on. Plus the convenience of changing whatever you may wish to change in the driver's seat. I don't think it is necessary to have it plugged in. I would be lost without mine though.

What happens if you swap remotes between the two units? You should be able to just move the plugs at the inverter to the opposite unit.

Have you tried a complete (AC & DC) power reset? Same thing happened to my Magnum. Whether it was a transient power spike or ??, I don’t know. But the power down-power up reset everything and it’s worked fine ever since.

danial I replaced mine with 2 3012 and 2 remotes,,, no problems with them but I know that most folks don't have that much inverter power - they use 1 inverter to do the coach. I have never had this much kw of inverted power in a coach,,
i'm contemplating using 1 and having the other as back up,,, 3kw has got me by for the last 10 years I don't plan on running a/c's off the inverter so microwave frig and TV's are most of the load something to think about $2000 not $4000
I would try changing your 2 remotes first though and see if it still beeps on other inverter. mine would do that and I could reset it good luck with what ever you do 4 grand is a big bite I know

Thanks for the advice, I tried the complete power restart with no improvement also switched the remotes at the inverter to conform its a bad remote. Looks like I will live without having any control on that unit unless anyone knows who has one for sale? probably do the inverter upgrade in January with the addition of solar panels $$
