For the record, my intention is not to flat tow it to racing events, just to have a fun thing to drive around while we're out of town that isn't a Jeep.

On some toads, you also have to watch the steering. Is it front steer or rear steer? In other words, is the drag link in front of the axle or behind. First tow it behind a pick up, make a turn, and make sure the steering returns to straight ahead. You may be spinning your wheels trying to flat tow if the steering won't cooperate.

Hey Andy what I did was bought the weld on spindles and hubs for a dana 60 and welded to a fabricated 9 in ford housing and used dyna loc out hubs both with 35 spline axles, but you are making about twice the power, my hemi was at 550 on the dyno, but when you are ready for some time trials come on down to our drag strip, Tristate Raceway in Earlville Ia, would love to see it, then you can take some time slips along with you, bring your bus there is also a campground if you want it

Andy I towed a 1995 Buick Roadmaster using the remco pump for about 5 years with no problems. The 95 had a 4L60e transmission which is similar to yours. Hope you have modified that trans, 1000HP might be a bit much.
I wonder if Hipster is the same fellow that builds the Hipster trans brakes for drag racing. I have a Hipster pro tree brake on my bracket car. Nothing like releasing the trans brake on a drag car.

Yes, I believe I know who Mike is now lol. The trans was built by Finish Line in Chicago and it's got just about everything possible done to it, but I'm not running a trans brake. It's not a serious racer, but a multi-purpose waste of time and money that I love.

I don't know why it would matter if it's front steer or not, but it's front steer and lots of positive caster, so it should track nicely with its street tires installed.

I like the idea of rear hubs, but I was hoping to avoid the full floating setup. I would basically need to redo the whole axle and that's a lot of time/money. I've broken aftermarket 35 spline D60 front lockouts before, so I would still have to come up with something stronger, too. I could do bolt-on drive flanges, but I don't want to be doing that on the road.

I'm thinking the electric pump is maybe the right way to go?
