Randy, I’ve not seen your Liberty . What color exterior / interior . What MPG does that diesel deliver?

That's a great price! I just sold our 2005 Liberty CRD (Diesel) for $7500. It had 130,000 miles on the clock. Mileage was always around 25 mpg.

It a nice Jeep, I've seen it and that is an incredible price, the timing belt is the biggest issue. I have the same Jeep and Randy's is in very good condition, no rust thats a big deal.

Engine is Italian by Motori. Not a legendary Mercedes diesel. But known to be reliable.

Default VM Motori 2.8 crd Reliability Issues

No, the 2005-06 has a 4 cylinder VM Motori, Italian 2.8 L turbo diesel. I love mine but for reliability, it's important to install an in-tank pusher pump https://www.idparts.com/oe-in-tank-l...rd-p-5944.html ,

replace the original fuel filter head (leaks),

replace the alternator de-coupler if faulty, install Green Diesel Engineering Eco-Tune, http://www.greendieselengineering.co...---/2_1.action

along with SasquatchParts EGR elbow kits 1 & 2 https://shop.sasquatchparts.com/prod...p-liberty-crd/ ,

add the upgraded Samco Intercooler turbo hose kit https://www.idparts.com/samco-silico...rd-p-3207.html ,

and also replace the failed OE, Mopar turbocharger inlet hose. Also it's important to add a MANN Provent 200 oil separator to keep the oil out of the charge air cooler and the engine intake. https://www.idparts.com/mann-provent...3afe9c68df85cc

Some of the above mods should have been incorporated by Mopar but the company only installed the 2.8 L diesel for 2 years (2005 & 2006) and only produced ~ 11,500 of the units in North America. Mine has all the mods and is not for sale at any price, and even though I bought Patsy a new GMC Canyon, I notice she often jumps into the 2005 Libby diesel to run errands around town...it's a hoot to drive and peppy too.

The 2005-06 Jeep Libby 2.8 L diesel is our TOAD so we plan on keeping it around for as long as the 1999 LXI is able to pull it without too much strain.

Randy, I'm so happy that your deal went south.
