We always said we would not buy a brown coach. When Patty saw the interior and the space with all slides in......she forgot it had brown on the outside. We call it "gold".

Now to sell our Huck Bolted "Fiberglass" Alpine........I have never itched around it.

Thanks for the entertainment. I have to remember how I started this post......Why we bought our Bird!!!!!!

Well...
I'll join the conversation...
To be honest with you we were not specifically looking for a Bird...
My wife and I are close to retirement and debated getting a coach...
Had set a budget and were looking at different units...
I specifically wanted something with a tag axle, side radiator, and fiberglass roof...
Was looking at Monaco Executives, American Eagles, Holiday Ramblers, etc...

Then we saw it...
A 450 for sale within driving distance, in excellent shape, and priced right...
I told her this is the one...
My dad owned 2 American Eagles and I know what a quality coach is...
But the opportunity to own a Wanderlodge was never in my wildest dreams...
Did my research, joined WOG and other groups, and the learning continues...

So far we've gone on one trip...
Since both of us are still working it will be a few trips a year until retirement...
But I can say that yes we did turn heads...
Thanks to all on here for the insights and help...

Darris,

Thanks for joining in!!

We narrowed down to a Prevost, Newell and Country Coach. But the Prevost had laminate interiors unless it was a CC or Royale. Newells floorplans just didn't work. Country Coach...the two 45'ers we drove did not handle as nice as our Alpine, but did have nice floorplans. Then Patty said look at a Bird. Jim S. in Indy offered to give us a ride in his BMC. It was wonderful. The rest is history.

We still work too, but fortunately I can business travel by coach with Patty when she is not watching our two grandsons. We will likely put 5-7K on a year till retirement 4 years from now. That will give us time to shake down and learn the entire coach....with the help of other owners.

Back to my original post.

Reason #15: When we close the entrance door or any bay door they close with a deep sounding THUD!
