Cool Security system

I have a question on the security system in our 99 LXI. I have a switch in a compartment in the dash that turns it on and off. I also have two "alarm fobs" for the security system. when I turn the switch on the alarm goes off both fobs appear to be dead or nonfunctional. I cant see where the fobs even open to replace a battery. Any thoughts?

Question two is when I punch the coach number into the outside key pad all I hear is a click in the dash but nothing happens. Are these two items tied together or is one a lock issue and the other is an alarm issue?

Wishing I was an electrical engineer bout now

Not sure how to replace the battery in the fob.
As for the key pad to lock the coach press the last two buttons at the same time.
To unlock enter the code I can't remember if you press the last two again after the code or not.

As you play with it I would suggest leaving a window unlocked that you might use to get inside if something locks and you can't get it unlocked. It has happened before.

Do your fobs look like the ones in the attachment? If so, their batteries are not serviceable. Mine are also dead and I've debated whether I want to get them replaced. Since I don't have keyless entry, using these remotes would be the next best thing.

Take a look at post #19 and #22 of this thread... http://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.co...?t=5010&page=2

I'm not sure if the contact info is still good but it might be worth a try.

Forget the key fobs, they are worthless even it they worked.
You can buy an auto security system and install it easy. I am not worry about security, but I sure like to push the fob and lock and unlock the door and bays.

Your will be a little different to mine but this may help if you are interested.

Kevin and Maillie, appreciate the responses. Yes my fobs look exactly like those pictured. I could not see a way to replace the batteries either. I too am not so worried about security but would like to have the fob to lock or unlock the doors. I have the keyless entry and the code but cannot seem to get that to work either

John, be sure you have the original code. It should be in the blue box, and it is written on the control module. I say the original code because an additional code can be programed into the system, Problem is, lose power by turning off the master or what ever and that code is gone. The other issue the key pad goes bad and keeps it from working. Easy replacement.
