Default Big Blue

Hi All,

Thanks for letting us join this great resource. We are new to BB and to RVing. My wife's family lived in a class C for two summers on Paint Creek marina in Ohio when she was young, and she has wanted one ever since! Our kids are 8 and 12, and we are looking forward to traveling in "Big Blue". Our bird has been in outdoor storage for a couple years, so we have been spending some time getting things in order. The goal is to have things ready for a spring break trip to Disney with a few starter trips before then.

Speaking of Buckeyes, we will be tailgating at the 11/3 Ohio State vs. Illinois game. Spot 217 in the RV lots across from Jesse Owen's stadium. Stop by if you are in the area!

What is behind the name Big Blue? Just colors? Any IBM connection there? I am an IBM retiree is why I ask.

Welcome Andrew. We are right next door in Indiana and I used to live in Columbus in the early 70s. My oldest daughter was born at Riverside Hospital. Anyway, this is a great group of people and a great resource when you own a Bird. Hope to see you guys at some rallies in the future.

Big Blue is short for Babe the Big Blue Ox. It has caused quite the stir in the neighborhood. Everybody loves it! I am in the communications industry, but I haven't worked for IBM.

I believe that Tom Sorrentino's 1987 PT is also named Big Blue.

So trying to be neighborly we showed them the coach and asked if it would be alright. All she could say was it's "big" and it's "blue". They were great neighbors and the name "BIG BLUE" kind of just stuck. The new neighbor is a NY Giants fan, so I'm sure he won't mind the name Big Blue either. The attached photo's are the name going on and the finished product.
