Default water pump

I have low pressure from the city water side when I'm hooked up to city water. Can I hurt something by turning on my 12v water pump to help get more pressure along with city water coming into the coach? I get better pressure this way, but the 12v pump doesn't sound good like I'm pumping from a empty tank, but good pressure.

Richard under normal circumstances you can use your pump along with the city water pressure. If your pump keeps running continuously while hooked up to city water then there is a problem. Pump will burn out eventually if it doesn't drive you crazy first.

Many of us do this--fill the tank and turn the city water off.

the pump only runs when i turn on the water to use, then it stops when i turn the water off. I get good pressure this way i was afraid of burning the pump out this way but if iam moving water as the pump is on i think i should be alright. Ill try the fill the tank up first an use the water out of the tank an see what kind od pressure i get then.

In all the years that I have owned and full timed in my 'Bird the only time I have ever used the shore/city water pressure was to fill the water two tanks, I always rely on just the onboard water pump.

I've noticed that the water pump will make extra noise if I'm on city water, have the pump on by mistake and the water tank is empty because the pump has emptied the tank. Evidently it pulls water from the tank and adds to the flow even if you have the city water on.
