Default a/c shroud

How do I tell what a/c unit I have. I need a new shroud and there is not a name on it or on the inside part where the filter goes. I have checked a few sites and they all look different than mine

Bill,
Looks like an Emerson Quiet Kool EQK 1350 system to me.

thank you for the reply Barry. It also looks like a old style Dometic duo therm as in this picture. http://www.dyersonline.com/dometic-r...duo-therm.html
That is why I am wondering if there is another way to tell who the maker is. I may jus go with a new unit since the shrouds are $200.00+ plus shipping

I just got this off of a web site. I will see if it is helpful
To find the model and serial number of any of the upper units, you will need to remove ceiling assembly inside the RV. Model and serial number should be visible on the underside of the upper unit.

You probably have the paper work for it in your blue box.

Before I spent $200+ to replace the cover on an obviously older unit, I would spend another $300 and get a new one, which would most likely happen in a short time anyway. If you can hold out until spring, come up to the Shipshewana Rally June 10th and have Leon put a new one on for you and get your fridge tuned up too while at it.

Bill, The unit info should be under the inside shroud which is easy to remove. This will also give you an opportunity to clean and inspect the coils. I removed the heat strips from mine which makes the coil a whole lot easier to clean and begs the question I asked, just how many heaters does a coach really need? My middle unit died back in July and my rear unit probably isn't to far behind. I have kept the crumbling shrouds held together with copious amounts of foil tap painted cream to match. I will be replacing these two units this winter with these units for sale up the road in Hudson, Fl. http://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/rvd/4706316836.html
They seem to be a good deal and no shipping, just an afternoon drive. Maybe we could get a deal on 3 or 4? I have cringed at $200.00 shrouds

If you come to Shipshewanna, Leon, the Amish RV refrigeration guy, sells used shrouds for $15 if he has one. He sells scratch & dent new Dometics for $450, list $850. At that price I did all three as they were all giving me trouble. I polished out a few of the scratches, and the others you will not see unless you climb on my roof.

Another reason why I glad we are attending the Shipshewanna rally as I also have a crumbling shroud that is being held together with duct tape. I shuddered when I saw the price on EBay for new ones. Hopefully Leon will be able to help all of us out.

I found two NOS shrouds for my Coleman air units for $55 each on eBay from a seller named hard2findrvpart in Kalamazoo, MI. My old ones were beyond taping as they crumbled at the touch, but given that both air units are working well, new shrouds for that price seemed the way to go.

He has about 200 items on eBay including shrouds.
