Default BMC Samsung install

The dreaded yellow cake appeared behind our Dometic so it was decision time.
My friends on WOG know I wanted to do this last year but the warden wouldn't give the necessary funding.
Called and got prices on a new cooling unit with installation since we will be at Shipshewana for the rally.
Thought we were going that way but Debra found the Samsung on sale at our local Lowes. Went by there and looked one over. Bought it and arranged for delivery in a week. Now to get the old one out and see what's behind there.
As the pics show there is some plumbing in the way so a platform was needed.
Plugged the ceiling vent while the opening was clear and triple checked my measurements. All is good.
Lowe's shows up and after a brief shoutout and some money changing hands they get it in place.
Front feet screwed to solid wood. Lower back stop installed. Top of cabinet has spacers screwed to sidewall that hold it in center. Solid wood across top with metal angle brackets screwed to sides. It appears to be rock solid. Planning a short trip to confirm install before summer travels begin.
Will try to post pics. Hope this helps someone out.

That looks really good! I can't imagine going back to a absorption fridge.

Now that your beer will be colder, I'll be able to beg one off you! HAHA!

Default Fridge door locks

I like those metal door locks too and hopefully they don't scratch the door. That is one of the things I like about the rubber ones, and I don't mind the way they look.

Paul, did you make the door locks or buy 'em? If the latter, could you share where you got them from? They're so much better-looking than bungee cords, which is what we presently use!

There's no way the warden, I mean Debra would ever let me put those on without some felt or rubber scratch guard. Haha.
Look at my closeup pic and you will see it. Thinking a more substantial piece of .25 wide rubber glued on might be better.

Mike, I made those from a local hardware drawer pull drilled & tapped 6.0x1.0mm. It is a design one of our fellow WOG members came up with. A length of threaded rod and jam nut screwed into the fridge front.
After a short drive to get the fridge settled in I am now thinking something longer; maybe a piece of stainless round . My design unproven with a fully loaded door pushing against it.

Also on the advice of our friend Max made a fridge riser/step in case we ever have to pull it out. In our case it had to be 4 5/8 to catch the front rollers. Could have used it at Toad Suck COE park a few weeks ago as the site was so eneven we had the front jacked way up.

When our Dometic fridge started leaking prior to complete failure the yellow cake was the first indication something was wrong. See pic .
Had no idea what was happening until I started reading about ammonia fridge problems.
