Default Potential problem with the M380

Every M380 owner should be aware that there is a potential problem waiting to occur when you change or have your oil changed. The oil pan is plastic with a metal insert for the drain plug. The problem starts when the individual changing the oil over torques the drain plug. The next time someone tries to remove the plug they loosen the nut holding the insert in the pan and it cannot be retightened without removing the pan. I know, it happened to me.

To prevent the problem from occuring again I replaced the plug with a Fumoto Drain Valve. The correct one is the F-104. They are $20 to $25 depending on where you buy.

I hope this keeps someone from having a dufus cause you problems.
