I always remove the mud flap at the back bumper, the full width thing.
It does a great job of throwing stuff all over your toad.
I have kept my toads way cleaner after ditching that flap.
BB decided along about 1998 that the rear flap should be way closer to the front and they moved it up behind the tag axle, they claimed it kept the engine bay cooler after moving it.
I even remove that flap.

Last year 4 of us Birds traveled to Alaska and none of us had a rock guard.
No damage was reported, most rock damage to my coach and toad has been from other vehicles throwing stuff.
In Alaska the 5th wheel guys drive way above their heads, they are sitting in fancy truck just hauling butt and they can't hear their dishes and stuff falling out of the cabinets.
They pass like they are on the freeway and they throw rocks all over everyone.
We pass them later on down the road when they have broken springs and

Thank for the responses, everyone. I’m leaning toward the Blue Ox Kar Gard. It seems easy enough to mount to my tow bar and won’t require any modification to the bus.

Has anyone had any experiences with that 3M paint protection film you can put on the front of a car?

Thanks,

Trent

I've got a roadmaster guardian with ez twist-lock brackets for some vehicle I don't own-- It isn't compatible with the system I went with for my CR-V (Maybe if I added some custom made tow bar parts, but... not worth it to me.

In Houston. Cheap.
