Hi Dennis,

Sorry to leave you hanging - John & Sue did make it the rest of the way home with no more shut down problems.

I had planned to post the solution to the problem once we found the cause but our best guess is still the Chassis “B” plug mentioned in post #7 above. After working together over the phone eliminating a lot of other causes we felt that it was the most likely place left where he could be intermittently losing the 12 volt supply for the front key switch - which seemed to be what was happening even though he was never able to prove it.

John removed the Chassis “B” plug from the socket and carefully inspected and cleaned the pins with contact cleaner. He used a very thin coat of dielectric grease on the connections in hopes of preventing future oxidation and reconnected the plug. That appeared to take care of the problem at least for the rest of the trip. I’m not sure what he plans for a long term fix. He may decide to leave it as is, replace the pins or maybe wire around it.
