My guess is it is stock with maybe a rebuilt 3208 and / or tranny

It's not, you're mistaking the converter clutch apply as an upshift. It is a bit of an upshift as rpm does drop a bit due to the input and out put elements of the torque converter are connected when the converter clutch applies.

Best way to know for sure is look under the bird.. safely of course.. if you cannot block it, take a picture with zoom of the trans tag.. should be able to tell from that if its an Allison or ZF.

From what i saw of the CAC install i would hope that they did not attempt a ZF conversion.

Nothing that JB weld and duct tape couldn’t handle..
If I did any upgrade would go to an allison HT740..
