Xmission wont shift

My driver started the coach... put it in gear and it would not shift out of 1st gear... also said the speedometer isn't working also... are these two connected some way... it has been sitting in the cold weather for a few weeks... could this cause such a problem?

Any help would be appreciated

low gear sensor maybe it's a 2 wire plug on trans towards rear of coach had one loose once and caused that same thing-would not shift out of low
speedo wire is near the same spot on trans I think been a while,,
