I’m signing. It pains me greatly to side with Camping World on anything, but this is just wrong.

Also signed. There's a Gander Mountain store (owned by Camping World) near Buffalo that also has that same size flag flying. Haven't heard any beef (yet!) over it, and I do like seeing it whenever I drive by.

Since Randy opened this political can of worms, I'll let him deal with it.

I love the flag, but since there are usually at least two sides to every story, I’ll play devil’s advocate....

Alternate and Totally hypothetical news flash:

Small North Carolina City accused of being non-patriotic by a large Illinois based corporation who erected a 130 foot tall flag pole in their city with a 40 by 80 foot flag for advertising purposes even though the city has an ordinance that limits the height of flagpoles to just 40 feet with flags no larger than 8 by 12 feet.

The city compromised by allowing an exemption for the cooperation to fly a 25 by 40 foot flag (more than ten times as big as the city ordinance stipulates), but that was not the size the Illinois Corporation was seeking so they turned to social media to complain that the city was non-patriotic and that they were being treated unfairly without mentioning the fact that the city was ok with a 25 by 40 foot flag but not a 40 by 80 foot flag.

In other news, residents from Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina rally around the Illinois based corporation and petition the city to bend over and….

Is Camping World flying a flag that big because they are that patriotic, or because it is a good advertising tool?

Good point. Camping World makes a freak of the flag. And freakishness, as advertising, can be effective or, masquerading as originality, just pathetic. But, when it cloaks itself in patriotism, patriots will find it offensive.

I try not to touch political conversations with a ten foot flag pole but this shouldn’t be that political.
There are guidelines and a manner of respect that should be shown to the flag.

Basic knowledge

Oh darn that’s old school we don’t teach stuff like this anymore

Several years ago my son was in the Boy Scouts, I guess it’s just the Scouts now.
There is an office building next door to the middle school.
The US flag there was severely tattered and torn.
He said to me popps they need to fix that
Yup, what are you gonna do about it?
I’ll replace it with a new one and dispose of it like they taught us in the Scouts
I turned the truck around and we went in and spoke with the owner.
He was taken aback by my child’s request to take care of his flag problem.
He said that he had neglected his responsibilities and would take care of it immediately.
The next morning there was a new flag.

I’m sharing this because I would hope that we realize that just because you can fly a flag the size of a football field doesn’t mean it’s in good taste or even good etiquette, and when it comes to Camping Worlds ceo standing up for American values, well I don’t shop there any longer or any business that I knowingly know is against the Constitution of the United States of America.
Or my civil rights

Waiting to be censored

I was there the day they hoisted that flag for the first time! Gave me chills!
